Official Rules
By entering the CIRA Show us your .ca Voting Contest (the “Voting Contest”), entrants agree to abide by these Official Rules and the decisions of CIRA (the “Sponsor”), which are final.
THE VOTING CONTEST PERIOD
The Voting Contest runs from March 19, 2010 at 12:01 a.m. (EST) to March 26, 2010 at 11:59 p.m. (EST) (the “Voting Contest Period”).
HOW TO ENTER
You may enter the Voting Contest by visiting the Sponsor’s web site at www.showusyour.ca (the “Contest Website”) during the Voting Contest Period. Fully complete the voting form, select the video entry for your vote, confirm compliance with the Contest rules and press “submit my vote” and you will be automatically entered into the Voting Contest.
Limit of one (1) entry per e-mail address, per day, during the Voting Contest Period. The sole determinant of time for the purposes of receipt of a valid entry will be the Sponsor’s records.
VOTING CONTEST ENTRIES
The Sponsor assumes no responsibility for any incomplete, invalid, lost, late, damaged, destroyed, misidentified, or misdirected entries or for any other problems occurring in connection with participation in this Voting Contest, including but not limited to any problems or issues arising from or related to the Contest Website.
Voting Contest entries are subject to verification by the Sponsor. Any entry that is incorrect, fraudulent, incomplete, or that does not allow the Sponsor to correctly identify the Voting Contest entrant will be automatically rejected and will not entitle anyone to an entry or a prize.
WHO CAN ENTER
The Video Entry Voting Contest is open to legal residents of Canada who have reached the age of majority in their province of residence at the time of participation in this Voting Contest.
Employees, agents and representatives of the Sponsor or any of its registrars, as well as members of their respective immediate families (father, mother, brothers, sisters, children), their legal or common-law spouse and any individual with whom such employees, agents and representatives reside, any of the Sponsor agencies, suppliers of prizes, material and services in connection with the Voting Contest or any other person directly related to the holding of the Voting Contest are excluded from the Voting Contest.
PRIZES
There is one (1) prize available to be won in this contest, consisting of one (1) PURE Digital Flip Ultra HD camcorder (model # U2120B-CA). Approximate retail value is $249.99 CAD.
Odds of winning the prize depends upon the number of entries received.
HOW TO WIN
Each selected entrant must first correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited, mathematical skill-testing question. The selected entrants will be contacted by telephone by a representative of the Sponsor to make arrangements for administering the skill-testing question. If a selected entrant cannot be reached by telephone by the Sponsor within three (3) days or if, for any other reason, the prize cannot be awarded, another entry will be chosen and so on, until the prize has been awarded.
Selected entrants must also first sign and submit to the Sponsor its standard form declaration and release (the “Release”) that will include, without limitation, authorization for the Sponsor and its agents to announce and publish the selected entrant’s name, address (city and province only) and/or photograph or image or other likeness, without further compensation, at any time and from time to time, in any future publicity. Such signed Release must be received by the Sponsor at: Show us Your .ca Voting Contest, 350 Sparks Street, Ottawa, Ontario K1R 7S8, email to sheila.bergeron@cira.ca or by fax at (613) 237-0534 on or before the third (3rd) business day following the date that the selected entrant was first contacted by the Sponsor.
Arrangements will be made for the awarding of the prize at the time the skill-testing question is administered and correctly answered, and the Release provided.
PRIVACY POLICY
Any personal information collected by Sponsor will be handled in accordance with the Sponsor’s Privacy Policy found at http://www.cira.ca/assets/Documents/Legal/Registrants/privacy.pdf. By entering this Voting Contest, you hereby consent to the Sponsor’s collection, use and disclosure of your personal information solely in order to manage and administer this Voting Contest. Sponsor will not make any other use of your personal information.
GENERAL RULES
The Sponsor is not responsible for any human or computer-generated error in the selection of an entrant or the awarding of a prize.
The Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to withdraw, terminate or modify all or any part of the Voting Contest, if for any reason, the Voting Contest is not capable of running as planned, including corruption, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, a virus, a bug or any other cause beyond the control of the Sponsor and which, in the opinion of the Sponsor, affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Voting Contest.
The Sponsor will not be responsible for late, lost, incomplete or destroyed entries and all such entries, including entry material/data that have been tampered with or altered, are void. The Sponsor does not assume any responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry information, technical malfunctions, human or technical error, printing errors, lost, delayed or garbled data or transmissions, electronic communications which are undeliverable as a result of any form of active or passive filtering of any kind, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or failures of any telephone or computer lines or networks, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof. In addition, the Sponsor shall not be responsible due to technical problems, traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any combination thereof.
The use of automated software or computer programs to register or enter this Voting Contest is prohibited and any individual who uses or attempts to use such methods to register or enter will be disqualified. In the event it is determined that an entrant has entered in a fashion not sanctioned by these rules, and/or has submitted more than the number of entries permitted by these rules, the entrant will be disqualified. The use of an invalid email address will disqualify the entry. Users spamming the same email address will disqualify the entry.
If the prize cannot be awarded as described in these rules, the Sponsor reserves the right to substitute the prize or prize component with another comparable prize.
The Sponsor reserves the right to withdraw or terminate this Voting Contest, and/or to modify any of the Official Rules without materially affecting the terms and conditions hereof, at any time without prior notice.
For Residents of Quebec, any litigation respecting the conduct or administration of this publicity Voting Contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux (the “Régie”) for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
This Voting Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and is void where prohibited.
All trademarks are the property of their respective owners. The manufacturers of the prizes are not a sponsor of the Voting Contest.
